Pattu is a beautiful dress style worn by women in the Kullu & Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. It’s similar to a saree but instead of draping one end over the shoulder, both ends are pinned in the front just below the shoulder using a silver brooch called Boomani. Pattu is typically made from sheep wool and has colorful designs along the borders. Some varieties, like Tara and Gudi Pattu, have star-shaped embroidery on the borders.
